Ipsy July 2014 part 2

WHAT'S IN THE BAG?

I signed up for two Ipsy Bags and my second bag was a hit too!

Faith Aromatherapy Body Lotion in Citrus/Ginger - This smells really good and is a nice sized little lotion to stick in my purse.  I do wish Ipsy would go back to having the whole bag be makeup.  I get plenty of lotion samples in my Birchbox subscription.

Pur-lisse Essential Daily Moisturizer and Sunscreen - I love this brand - have several tubes of the moisturizer but none with sunscreen yet so this was nice.  I have recently added sunscreen to my daily makeup routine because a cousin mentioned she read it was the best defense against aging that you can do for your skin.  I am all about preventing the wrinkles!

Elizabeth Mott Tints and Sass in Cherry - I really like this - I am a lip girl so I can never have too many tints - and you can use this on your cheeks as well!  I love when products are multi-functioning!

I was very pleased with my second bag - it only contained two duplicates - the Pop bronzer (which I shared with a friend) and the Bare Minerals 5 in 1, which was a different shade so I can use both!

I also love having two of these cute pink bags for all kinds of uses.  I was very pleased with July Ipsy but would love it if they went back to only makeup in their bags.  I have plenty of lotion and sunscreen from my subscription to other boxes.

Monday Musings...a day late...

Another Tuesday is upon us and I missed Monday Musings with Family in town so here goes!

I could not resist these yellow and gray chevron sheets at JC Penney yesterday even though my bedroom is more of a gray blue.  I did not buy a chevron comforter to match so I think I am okay putting these on under my comforter that matches the room.

And no trip to JC Penney is complete without a stop inside the Sephora store!  I could spend hours inside here exploring all the makeup and fragrances.

I picked up the Urban Decay de-slick makeup setting spray since I was almost out of my setting spray.  I love this brand!  And if you do not use a setting spray, I really recommend it!  I do see a big difference between when I use one and when I do not.

I also grabbed the Urban Decay Eye shadow Primer Potion Anti-Aging since I am almost out of my previous sample size of the same thing.  This primer does work and my eye shadow lasts all day.

Sephora also gave me a free lip gloss and I had enough points for some Nars sunscreen primer.  Not bad for under $30 at Sephora!

I also got a sample of Tresor In Love - which I love and is on my want list for perfumes right now.  This perfume reminds me of Paris and the visit I made there when I was a teenager.  I visited with a boyfriend and it was so romantic to be in love in the city for lovers.

And this cute set is now on my wishlist for Christmas - really want it!  Bloomingdale's is sold out right now but will be looking for what sets they put together for this holiday season.

Friday Follow up!

BIRCHBOX - I cannot say enough good things about this company.  They have excellent customer service.  If something is wrong with shipping or items in the box, they do everything they can to make it right.  I recently had an issue with a BB sub for my brother and BB went above and beyond to make me happy.  They gave me points and a free box!  You earn free points for your monthly box, for reviewing, and for having new people sign up with your link.  Those points can be turned into cash to use in their store.  I am in love with their store too - always find goodies in there to try!  If you want to sub this one click here.

Cake Boss Folders - I found these cute folders at Dollar Tree - yes Dollar Tree -0 for yes, $1.  Love them! Super cute!  I was amazed at all the goodies at that store.  I found some cute spritzer and water bottles for my Posh business.

Glass Sculptures - This was part of the amazing ceiling at the Indianapolis Children's Museum.  They have a rotating seat that you can lay back and watch the ceiling.  AMAZING!  So Beautiful - I want a pic of this blown up for my wall!

Ghirardelli Squares in Dark & Raspberry - These are my new favorite chocolates!  Love them and the fact that they have cute pink inside!

Ipsy July 2014

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

Ipsy is a monthly subscription box that contains 4-5 beauty items for $10.   July's month theme was Sensationally Sunkissed!  What a cute pink scalloped bag!  I really like that it is waterproof too.

The first look out of the bag:

Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray - This is a great beach spray!  I love the smell of it and the way it textures my hair.  I have tried this soy renewal brand before and I really like it.  It can be a bit pricey though.

Hang Ten Dark Tanning Oil - I will probably use this to shave my legs, a tip given to my by another Ipster.  I have pale white skin and am a redhead - I do not tan - I turn red and then go back to white - or maybe a darker pink.  There is not a tan shade.

Bare Minerals 5 in 1 creme eyeshadow -  This is the smallest sample I have ever seen in an Ipsy bag - even smaller than the Benefit tints.  I was really hoping to get the duo pallet instead of this because I prefer them over creams but I will use this.  The color is right for what I like and I have primers and and even an over the shadow cream to make it last.  This is a bit messy and hard to get in place.  It is smooth though.  I usually prefer shimmery eye shadows.

Pop Bronzer - Again, I will have to find a different use for this as I do not use bronzers.  It is a nice size though - very impressed with Pop products.

Pixi Beauty Mini Tinted Brilliance Balm - One of my favorite things in this bag was the Pixi tinted brilliance balm.  The full size is $14.  My shade is a tad on the pink side for me.

I like getting Ipsy so much that when my cousin needed someone to sign up to get off the waitlist, I got another one.  So this is just my bag 1 review.  I really liked this one so couldn't wait to see what bag 2 had!

Memebox - Nakedbox #19

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

So right after I bought the first Memebox, I went and purchased another one - it is a little addictive - this is another Naked box which, since I was new to Memebox, I wanted to start with.

I could not resist adding this first - since this first photo goes on my blog page!  How funny is this Psy mask?

Again, super cute pink box:

First look - looks amazing!

PERIPERA PERI TINT MINI MANDARIN JUICE -  So if you read my blog, or know me , you know I am a huge sucker for packaging - HUGE!  This of course is the reason I bought this box - love this cute little lip gloss so much - yes, it is orange and yes, it smells like oranges! But I love it - and I will keep the cute little box it came in too! It does say it is also a cheek stain and the gloss is build-able so I will not wear it as a straight orange color.

DDOBYUL SNT SUPER BB -  I am a huge fan of BB creams as well - so this will get used for sure - this is a very light shade which is perfect for me.  It also has anti-aging natural ingredients in it - which at my age is great!

NOTS ACNE PORE DEEP CLEANSER -  A cleanser for acne and pore reducing - I have two teenagers in the house so this product will be put to good use.

IOPE BIO ESSENCE INTENSIVE CONDITIONING UNISEX KIT -  I had no idea what this was when I saw it online - It is a skin conditioning leave on kit with his and hers applications - and comes with the little sponges to apply.  It moisturizes the face and improves clarity and texture.  We will see if I can talk my husband into using this with me.  It does say to moisturize right after this so it must be strong stuff.

PSY MASK-  Yes, this is supposed to be Psy from Gangnam Style - very interesting face mask packaging choice! This is supposed to bring a youthfulness back to your skin and replenish dehydrated skin.  I will also enjoy seeing what this does to my face - maybe if I do the dance while wearing it??

MemeBox Naked #22

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

Memebox's are not a subscription box but are similar in that they ship a random variety of items in a box to your door.  There are several types - Naked, Super box, Lucky Box, and Memebox.  They are Korean beauty products.  A majority of them have a theme.  The Naked box means you get to see what is in it before you choose it but most of their boxes are blind - meaning you won't know what's inside.  Sometimes they give you a sneak peak of an item to get you to purchase one of the boxes.  They range in price from $15- $60 and you can purchase in bundles to save money.

I purchased Naked Box #22 awhile back and it finally made it through customs to me!
These boxes are a super cute pink color - love the box!

First look - loving everything !

Dr G Bling Bling Cream - SFP 35 -  This provides natural skin protection with the SPF 35, controls oil and has a matte finish.  It is comparable to our BB creams.

MISE EN SCÉNCE Curling Essence 2x - This is a 2 in one for nutrition and curl - makes your curls bounce without being sticky or drying - very nice - wore this in my hair today and I noticed a difference in the moisture feeling in my hair.  I love it!  I do have to use quite a bit though since I have very thick hair.

ELLEGIRL I SAY TINT YOU SAY GLOSS -  (Rock Berry)  This is reason #1 that I bought this box - love the super cute packaging on this lip gloss!  This is supposed to be a moisturizing lip gloss.  It is a very pretty red color and stains nicely.

MAKEON MERMAID WATERPROOF GEL PENCIL LINER SET - And this is reason #2 that I bought this one - love this Mermaid case liner set!  Super cute packaging with a lot of nice liners -

 They are as follows:
1.  Party Tonight Pearl Black
2.  Lovely Espresso Brown
3.  Sexy Vampire Burgundy
4.  Secret Princess Gold
5.  Look at Me Lovely Beige

They can also double as spreadable eye shadows - you could pack these for a trip and not need to take any other eye shadows or eyeliners.

ILLI GREEN TEA BRIGHTENING MASK -  This is the thing I was most curious about in this kit - I have never used a Korean face mask but have heard nothing but good things - very interested to see how my skin feels after trying this - I will update you! It is supposed to replenish dehydrated skin.

Very excited about all the items that came in my Memebox.  This box was $23 plus shipping and I feel I got my money's worth here.  The eyeliners alone were $39 in their shop when I bought this box.  They offer special codes at different times which will bring the cost down for you - just check out Facebook.

The Holiday Housewife July 2014

What's in the Box?

The Holiday Housewife is a monthly subscription box with a theme each month.  It is $24.99 for a monthly subscription or $29.99 for a one time box.  Payments are made through Pay Pal.

This month's theme was Girl's Night In.  It promised pampering items from Etsy makers and another charm for the bracelet that you get in your very first box.  There were two recipes in the box - one for Cookies and Cream Popcorn and one for Cookies and Cream Hot Chocolate.

Here's the first look:

Bird Guest Soap with Lavendar and Spa Salts by Kathyinozarks Handmade soaps  -  ($3)  This is a very pretty soap with a bird on it that smells very strongly of lavendar.  You can purchase more like this here

Lavendar Spa Bars with Pink Himalayan Salt by KathyinOzarks soaps -   ($16)  This is a very cute soap that also smells strongly of lavender.  You can purchase it at the same place as the bird soap.

Chai Fizzie Powder by Triskele Treasures, LLC -  These are little fizzie packets made with baking soda and citric acid.  To check out their shop, click here.  I do not see these for sale individually.  There are several things in their Etsy store I am interested in - check out the bee soap and the Irish set!

LA Colors nail polish in and a nail file -   I love this shade of pink and the nail file is really cute!

PrimeTime Extra Butter Popcorn with popcorn bags - there is usually a snack in the Holiday Housewife box and my family will enjoy this.  We love popcorn for our movies.

Sugar Scrub Cubes in Oatmeal Milk & Honey and Pink Sugar by Symbolic Import -   ($3)  These are really nice little cubes to scrub with - they can be purchased here.  There are also a lot of cute scrubs in this shop - I am thinking about those Gingerbread ones for stocking stuffers.

Star's Reach Lip Balms in Chocolate and Cotton Candy -   ($5 a piece)  These are very nice little balms but I am afraid the labels are not going to last very long.  To buy more in other flavors, click here.

Purse Charm for the Charm Bracelet -   In your very first box, you receive a charm bracelet to add the charms in each successive box to - last month I got the bracelet and a feather charm.  This month it was this cute little pink purse charm.

This box had a very good value - just the few items from the Etsy store I could price added up to $26.   I cannot wait to pamper myself with all these goodies with a girl's night in!
