Monday Musings...a day late...

Another Tuesday is upon us and I missed Monday Musings with Family in town so here goes!

I could not resist these yellow and gray chevron sheets at JC Penney yesterday even though my bedroom is more of a gray blue.  I did not buy a chevron comforter to match so I think I am okay putting these on under my comforter that matches the room.

And no trip to JC Penney is complete without a stop inside the Sephora store!  I could spend hours inside here exploring all the makeup and fragrances.

I picked up the Urban Decay de-slick makeup setting spray since I was almost out of my setting spray.  I love this brand!  And if you do not use a setting spray, I really recommend it!  I do see a big difference between when I use one and when I do not.

I also grabbed the Urban Decay Eye shadow Primer Potion Anti-Aging since I am almost out of my previous sample size of the same thing.  This primer does work and my eye shadow lasts all day.

Sephora also gave me a free lip gloss and I had enough points for some Nars sunscreen primer.  Not bad for under $30 at Sephora!

I also got a sample of Tresor In Love - which I love and is on my want list for perfumes right now.  This perfume reminds me of Paris and the visit I made there when I was a teenager.  I visited with a boyfriend and it was so romantic to be in love in the city for lovers.

And this cute set is now on my wishlist for Christmas - really want it!  Bloomingdale's is sold out right now but will be looking for what sets they put together for this holiday season.

LOVE ULTA CASHBACK...

I could not resist getting this Benefit set when I found out I had $8 in ULTA cash to spend.  It retails for $36 so it was nice to get a discount.  Benefit is one of my favorite makeup brands and I have loved every item of theirs I have tried.  This set included 7 things I have never tried.

BENEFIT BEAUTY SCORE - This set includes Benetint, High Beam, Stay Don't Stray, Ooh La Lift, Pore Professional, That Gal, It's Potent, Hoola, Bella Bamba, and They're Real.

This coin purse was the free gift with purchase of any $35 Benefit item or items.  I expected the coin purse to be much smaller and was pleasantly surprised by the size of this.  It also has a mirror and a little pocket inside.

WANTABLE BOX: MAKEUP

WHAT'S IN THE MAKEUP BOX?

One Sunday evening, I happened to be online and someone posted that there was an awesome sale going on over on Wantable, the subscription box site that has 3 different customable boxes.  So many people were on the site that we crashed it but if you e-mailed them, they honored that deal.  The deal is now over of course and my boxes came in the mail TODAY!

I took a quiz that basically asked about my likes and dislikes when it came to makeup - my preferences are listed below.  These can be changed after each box to mix up what you get in your next box!  I love that!  One month I might decide I am sick of blush and want some Lash product - easy to do! I had four items in my dislike pile: brows, eyeliner, Lash Product and Bronzer.

Cailyn Cosmetics Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Apple - a version of this actually came in an Ipsy bag last month but I did not get it.  I do like this but people who have reviewed it said it was a bit drying so I will be sure to wear it with another lip balm.  Most of what I have on my lips is a layering of lip sticks and glosses so this is fine for me! LOVE!

ncLA Nail Lacquer in Not So Sweet -  I love this shade of pink- it's like a cotton candy and since I am a redhead it is one of the best shades for me! I am not lover of nail polishes so the next time I get a Wantable makeup box I will move this to the dislike section. LIKE!

Vincent Longe Trio Eyeshadow Harem - This is my favorite item in the box - all the three colors are perfect for what I like to wear and its really cute packaging. It is made easy to apply to by having the one two and three on it! LOVE!

La Bella Donna Moonlight Cream-to-Blush Moonlight - I am a fan of blush but prefer the creams and solids rather than loose powders so this again was perfect and the shade is perfect for my fair skin. LOVE!

Wantable has their quiz down to a science and it picked exactly what I told it I liked and shades that I like as well.  This whole box was a plus for me with nothing going to the donate pile - a $1 well spent.  There are many great things about Wantable but I love that they let you skip months when you are not quite ready for another box and they are probably the only sub box that I have seen that is 100% returnable - if you are not happy, you can print off a return label and get your money back!  Really, there is no reason not to join this one!   Their customer service is excellent as well!

New Ulta Purchases!

ULTA BUYS THIS WEEK

Ulta is nice because they give you surprise samples with every purchase.  Here is the view of inside my box:

I couldn't resist picking up some of these Body Shop lotions - buy 2 get 1 free!

Ulta also has drugstore makeup brands - Maybelline is my favorite drugstore brand and I wanted to try this Maybelline Hi-Lighting Blush $9.99:

And this Jane Multi-Colored Cheek Powder Color Correcting Powder $12:

I also bought this Stila pack: Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Beauty Balm that was on sale for $12:

As I said, in every Ulta purchase you get free samples; I got some hair softening oils and shampoo and conditioner - LOVE!!!:

And last, but not least, as it is the reason I was buying the Ulta products,  Urban Decay Travel-Size trio for $19.  It included the setting spray, eye shadow primer, and 24/7 eyeliner in Rockstar.

Sephora must haves this week!

My little Sephora order came in the mail finally!! Here's a shot of everything in my order with samples. I received the Make up for Ever primer and Hairdresser's Invisible oil and a face serum.  The fair oil made my hair feel so soft and smooth!  Have to purchase this full size!  The Righteous butter was a steal at $6.

I ordered the Smashbox Try It Kit for $19 - comes with primer, eyeshadow primer, mascara, eye pencil and lip gloss.  Great value!

This cute little Urban Decay eye shadow sampler was a bonus item this time!
Love that it came with a sample of the eyeshadow primer.

Nice little order for $32 and change!
