MONDAY MUSINGS....

I am loving the Wantable deal I got last night!  $1 boxes! Super customer service too - the site crashed from everyone trying to get that deal and they honored the coupon! I snagged all three of their boxes: Intimates, Makeup, and Accessories!

So I was looking for the perfect new box to join when I found this... the fortune cookie soap box! It's a quarterly box for $19.99 They are all sold out on the Summer box so I had to sign up for the Fall Box.  Super excited to get this box in August.  And since it is soap, I am very happy with the timing of the boxes.

I have tried makeup boxes, kids boxes, underwear boxes, and will try soap boxes and accessories boxes.  My daughter really wants to try the pet box, BarkBox.  Still waiting on the best deal for that one.

Beauty Smoothie in buttercream delight.... I love this - its a shampoo, shower gel, and bubble bath in one - from ULTA.

The round - about caddy from 31.  Loves this little tote.  Perfect for trips to the pool or as a dorm room shower caddy.

This cute little unicorn corkscrew is so fun!  And opening bottles of wine is fun too!

Aden and Anais blanket - this is my fave blanket of all time - I want it and I want to give it to everyone having a baby girl - see below for the one I would give for baby boys!

And of course, since this is a blog also about my makeup obsession, this is the one I am obsessing about this week.  It is a very good hider of those pores.

BIRCHBOX? WORTH THE MONEY?

SO a few months ago, I signed up for Birchbox.  My first box was pretty much a complete waste. (see top photo)  The photo does not show that I got a liquid eyeliner in the box which I do not like.  The Ayres soap stunk up the box so I threw it away.  I do not drink tea so I gifted it to my sister's friend who is in Africa.  And I can not tolerate most perfumes because I am asthmatic; that went to a girlfriend.  So basically that left me with the small bottle of hair stuff. WOW. 

Month two was a little better.  My daughter stole the Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle.  The packets were barely enough to sample the Dr Hauschka Regenerating Eye and Neck Cream.  About the only nice item I liked was the Stila lip glaze for $8.

I say all of this to say I did close Birchbox only to start it back up again last week.  I knew nothing of the point system at the time of my subscription.  You earn points for subscribing and reviewing items.  These points turn into cash to buy items on the site. WIN WIN! 

So I will be trying to earn as many points as I can to save some money on my favorite makeup items.

Really hoping I get a Jouer lip gloss in this month's box....stay tuned!
